Gans Woman Perishes in House Fire


A long-time Gans resident, Betty Crow, perished in a house fire. 

The fire is believed to have started in Crow's bedroom in her home on 4690 Road. According to reports, Crow attempted to extinguish the fire before being overcome. A male relative living in the home attempted to save Crow by removing her from the home but was unable to do so.


Crow, 79, was the mother of seven children and well known in the Gans community. Her funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Gans Bible Church. 

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and is under investigation.
