The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported Saturday that a Knoxville, Tennessee man was killed in a one-car crash at about 7 a.m. Saturday near Mile Maker 309 in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 40 in Sequoyah County. The OHP reported Carl Pearson, 74, died at the scene due to head, internal trunk and leg injuries. Pearson was driving a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder east on the interstate when, for an unknown reason, he ran off the road to the right and his vehicle overturned two times. The vehicle landed on its wheels and Pearson was ejected through the driver's side window. The crash is under investigation, the OHP reported.
