A person of interest is being interviewed by Sallisaw police Tuesday morning, after a woman's body was found slumped over the driver's seat in a car found in front of Armstrong Bank on Ruth Street in Sallisaw. Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin stated, "During the homicide investigation this morning we were able to identify a total of four crime scenes which are being processed by the OSBI. We conducted a search warrant this morning also, and were able to identify a person of interest. This individual is being questioned at this time, along with witnesses." Earlier Franklin said the woman's body was found at about midnight, and Ruth Street was blocked off for awhile as the investigation began. The streets are now open. The body of the woman, who has not yet been identified, will be sent to the state medical examiner's office for autopsy.
