Applications for Sallisaw Main Street's annual Bluegrass and Barbeque event, slated for April 24 and 25 in downtown Sallisaw, are now available and being accepted.
Entry for the barbeque contest is $50 and the deadline to enter is April 17. Payment is due by April 22. For information on the competition contact Margaret Perry at 918-441-5626. Vendor spaces are available for $30. For more information on vendor spaces contact Carol at 918-776-7920. Applications for both may be found and submitted on the Sallisaw Main Street web site at sallisawmainstreet.org.
Sallisaw Main Street, founded in 2004, promotes local shopping and support of Sallisaw's downtown area. The organization's mission "...is the restoration and beautification of our downtown district through working with business owners, the City of Sallisaw, fundraising and grant writing."
The group's most recent project is the restoration of storefronts in the downtown area through grants and support of those business owners.
