Golf Tournament to Raise Money for Two Charities

Golfers have until Thursday to get a discounted entry fee on the Playing Fore Hope Charity Scramble Tournament.

The tournament, to raise funds for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and the Sequoyah County Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Task Force, will be held July 15 at the Shadow Creek Golf Club in Sallisaw.

The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $60 per person before June 15, and is $75 per person after July 1. The entry fee entitles the golfer to 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and lunch from Wildhorse Barbecue.

There are also prizes to aim for. The first place team will get $250, second place will get $125 and third place will get $75. In addition $10,000 will be up for grabs for a hole in one, and prizes will be offered for the closest to the pin.

Sign in for the tournament will be at 9 a.m. on July 5, and the shotgun start will be at 10 a.m.

The tournament is sponsored by Sequoyah County Democrats. For more information call 918-649-1099 or 918-839-0826.
