A one-year-old toddler was accidentally run over in Vian Friday and is in critical condition in a Tulsa hospital.
Vian Police Chief Levi Risley said it appears the incident was accidental but the investigation remains open. Risely said the child’s mother was distracted and the toddler, a boy, wandered away and behind a car that was backing out. The driver did not see the child, Risley said.
The accident occurred at about 4 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex on Leftwich Street, Risely said. The child was flown by helicopter to the Tulsa hospital. The name of the child was not released.
