Easter Egg Hunts Announced


Easter arrives on March 27 and the Easter Bunny is afoot and planning egg hunts for all.

In Sallisaw the Citywide, Egg-Stremely, Egg-Cellent Egg Hunt will be held at March 26 at the McGee Ball Park Field, east of KFC/Taco Bell.

Egg hunt coordinator Mike Mouzakis of Elim Church said registration for the event begins at 10 a.m. and the hunt begins at 11 a.m. The hunt is divided into age groups for toddlers and children up to 12 years of age. The egg hunt is sponsored by community churches.

Mouzakis said 25,000 eggs will be available to claim, (plastic bags will be given to the children for the hunt) and over 100 prizes will be given away. A new bicycle will also be given away in each age group. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photographs.

Mouzakis thanked donors - the Sallisaw Fraternal Order of Police and Ana Dotson, DDS. 

He said, “We are still needing candy real badly.” To make a donation for the egg hunt contact Mouzakis at 1-479-420-4141.

The egg hunt is sponsored by churches in the community.

The Muldrow Lions Club is sponsoring the Easter Egg Hunt at the Muldrow City Park at 11 a.m. March 26. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups – infant to age 4; 5, 6 and 7; and 8, 9 and 10. Refreshments will also be served at the egg hunt.

Webbers Falls annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 1 p.m. March 26 in the Webbers Falls Park. The event will include hunts for children in three age groups – 2 to 4, 5 to 7, and 8 through 12. A Kiddie Corral will also be set up.

Vian Lions Club will be hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. on March 27 at the Vian School football field. The egg hunt will be available to all children, age 12 and under.

Tenkiller State Park's Easter Egg Hunt will be held March 26. Children will be able to hunt scattered eggs and visit with Park Pal, the official mascot of the Oklahoma state parks. There will be three age classes for egg hunters - 0-4, 5-8 and 9-12. In addition to candy, children also have the chance to win prizes.

Easter Sunrise Services will also be held at Fisherman’s Point in Tenkiller State Park on Easter Sunday. In case of cold or wet weather, guests will meet inside the Driftwood Nature Center for the Easter Service.

Greenleaf State Park will hold an all-day Easter Extravaganza on March 26. Events start at 9 a.m. and include a gigantic afternoon Easter egg hunt which will be the main attraction.
