The Sallisaw Police Department has been investigating the burglary of Taylor Rentals which occurred on April 15 during which six zero turn lawn mowers were stolen with an approximate value of $30,000. During the course of the investigation the lawn mowers were located by the Fort Smith Police Department. According to the Sallisaw Police Department, information and evidence was gathered by the Fort Smith Police that lead officers to Leflore County, Oklahoma. Working with the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office, the Leflore County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation a search warrant was obtained for a residence in Rock Island, Oklahoma. At that time, Tyler Jones, 21, (above, top) was taken into custody. Stolen property was recovered and arrest warrants were obtained for Thomas Bardrick, 18, (above, center) and Freddie McFarland, 51, (above, bottom).
Bardrick was arrested by Fort Smith police on April 21 and McFarland was arrested by the U.S. Marshals in Fort Smith on April 29. The three individuals have been charged with two counts of second degree burglary and two counts of grand larceny. Based on confessions by these individuals, the Fort Smith Police Department and Sebastian County Sheriff's Office were able to recover stolen property as well. All agencies involved are still working to identify ownership of some recovered property, as well as locate additional property that these individuals might have sold.
