On Saturday, May 9 around midnight Sequoyah County deputies were called to a residence north of Gore in reference to a female unresponsive call. The deceased was a 50 year old woman. Initial reports indicate the victim succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries. The medical examiner's office was called in to assist during the investigation. Sunday morning a search warrant was served at the residence in order to collect additional evidence. According to Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart the husband of the deceased, a 52 year old male, has been arrested in connection with the incident. The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Dept. was assisted by the Gore Police Dept, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office.
