Fire at Sallisaw Days Inn

At approximately 1:34 p.m. the Sallisaw Fire Department responded to a fire at the Days Inn in Sallisaw located at 710 S. Kerr. The fire department as well as the Sallisaw Police Department and Sequoyah County Emergency Management quickly arrived on the scene. Initial reports indicate that there was a fire in one of the hotel rooms. Residents and employees of the Days Inn were temporarily evacuated while personnel worked to extinguish the fire. According to officials the fire was quickly extinguished and contained.
