OSBI to Investigate Unnamed Sallisaw Employee

Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin confirmed Monday afternoon that he has asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) to investigate a City of Sallisaw employee.

The OSBI reported that person is in the city manager’s office. City Manager Clayton Lucas did not return phone calls. His employment is on the city’s agenda for the city commission’s regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday.

Franklin said his department received a complaint about a city employee. Franklin would not reveal who the employee is or who filed the complaint.

“We received the complaint,” Franklin said, “and to avoid a conflict of interest we called in the OSBI. The OSBI is going to look into it.”

Having a third party investigate such a complaint is common, Franklin said, in order to avoid a conflict.
