A shooting late Sunday sent one man to the hospital, Sheriff Larry Lane reported.
Lane said the sheriff’s office is investigating the shooting, and the victim is expected to recover. He said the shooting occurred at about midnight Sunday and was at a residence on Moonshine Road, north of Vian.
“It was apparently an argument between a father and a son. The father wanted the son to leave, or not come into the house. They son shot through the door and hit the father in the foot,” Lane said.
The shooter used a .22-caliber pistol, Lane said, and the victim was transported to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith for treatment.
No arrests were made during the initial investigation, and Lane said the investigation, when complete, will be submitted to the district attorney’s office.
