Workshops Help Adults with Education

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) at Carl Albert State College (CASC) is presenting a four -part workshop series, entitled “The Adult ABCs of Entering College and Technical School,” for adults who want to continue their education.

The second in the series is scheduled for March 21 at the Patrick Lynch Public Library in Poteau.

Kelly Kellogg, CASC EOC coordinator, said, “This workshop will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.”

She continued, “This second workshop explores learning styles and study tips. The goal of the workshop series is to provide adults with information and resources to feel confident in continuing their education.”

According to Kellogg, the workshops are free, and each monthly workshop will cover a specific topic concerning the process and preparation of entering a postsecondary program.

Kellogg explained, “The workshops will be in a relaxed, informal environment. This time, free cookies will be provided from Cakes and More. EOC welcomes everyone to explore the various aspects of learning and related study ideas that can be utilized in and outside of the classroom.”

Educational Opportunity Center is one of the TRIO programs housed at CASC, and is funded 100 percent by the U.S. Department of Education. The EOC program budget is $510,799 and serves 1675 participants.
