Golf Tournament Raises Money for Education Grants

The Sallisaw Educational Foundation's annual 4-man Golf Scramble will be held August 8 at the Shadow Creek Golf Club in Sallisaw.

The tournament is the primary fundraiser for the foundation, which provides grants for Sallisaw teachers to enrich the learning experience of their students. The foundation has awarded more than $20,000 in grants to teachers in kindergarten through high school.

Tournament registration will be at 8 a.m. August 8, when donuts will be served, and tee-off time is at 8:20 a.m. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m.

The entry fee is $200 per team. First place will win $500, second place will win $300, and third place will win $200. Additional prizes will be awarded for the longest drive and the closest to the pin. Anyone who makes a hole in one on the third hole will win a car from Blue Ribbon Auto Group!

For more information contact Eric Karr, foundation president, at 918-775-1510.  Anyone who wishes to help with the tournament or sponsorship may contact Erika Martens at 918-776-2000.
