Fireworks Shows to Light up the County

Fireworks displays will run from July 2 through 4 this year in Sequoyah County and from the east end to the west end.

July 2: The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce fireworks show will begin at dusk on Thursday. The show will be held at the Sallisaw High School campus. There will be no extra activities this year. The fireworks are provided by the city and the chamber.

July 3: Vian's fireworks will start with the awarding of the Sons and Daughters Awards at 8 p.m. July 3 at the Vian High School football stadium. The fireworks show will begin at dusk.

The Roland fireworks show will also begin at dusk on July 3 at the Roland Park. The show is courtesy of  Cherokee Enterprises and fireworks technicians will be lighting the fuses. It is suggested that spectators bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show.

July 4: Webbers Falls is planning a July 4 celebration at the Webbers Falls High School football stadium and show barn, with the help of local churches. The celebration begins with the serving of a smoked hog and fun activities for children including inflatables, a dunk tank, and pony rides. A guest speaker will also be on hand, and the Webbers Falls Volunteer Fire Department will set off the fireworks at dusk.

Cancelled: The popular fireworks show at Lake Tenkiller has been cancelled due to the lake's high water. The show has been rescheduled for Sept. 5 on Labor Day weekend.
