A 37-year-old Sallisaw woman and a 37-year-old Sallisaw man were charged with several drug counts as the result of a drug investigation by Sallisaw police.
Mary Ann Stoker and Darren Joshua Nibarger was charged Wednesday in Sequoyah County District Court. She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute within 2000 feet of a park, unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute within 2000 feet of a school and public housing, unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the police officer’s report, officers knocked at the residence of the suspects on West Redwood Street on March 13, and when no one answered the door the officers made forceful entry into the residence.
The suspects were found in a bedroom and placed in hand restraints. When the officers began their search, Nibarger, the report states, told them what they were looking for was in a black safe. In the safe the officers found multiple plastic bags, a set of digital scales with a crystal substance, a plastic bag with a crystal chunk substance that field tested positive for methamphetamines, and a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Sallisaw jail.
Nibarger and Stoker will next appear in court on April 20 on Associate District Judge Kyle Waters’ disposition docket.
