Zachary Scott Cain, 29, of Sallisaw was charged Sept. 21 in Sequoyah County District Court with unlawful possession of a controlled, dangerous substance without a prescription, a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of carrying weapons.
According to the police report filed with the charges, Cain was observed on Sept. 17 to be "very nervous" during a police investigation at the corner of Madison and Creek Streets regarding a vandalism incident. When police approached they saw a knife sticking out of the front of Cain's pants. Police asked if he had any other weapons and Cain gave the officer a pair of brass knuckles.
During the following pat down, the officer found a plastic bag containing four blue pills, later identified as Oxycodone.
Cain was released on a $6,500 bond on Sept. 23 and his case is set for disposition docket on Oct. 21.
