10th Annual Cruisin' 64 Car Show and Chili Cook-Off to be Held Oct. 10

Sallisaw Main Street will host the 10th annual Cruisin' 64 Car Show and Chili Cook-off on Oct. 10 in downtown Sallisaw.

Car show registration will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. with awards given about 2 p.m. First and second place trophies will be given for all categories, for a $20 entry fee.

For the Chili Cook-off the set-up time is 9 a.m. on the corner of Oak and Choctaw Streets. Chili must be ready to serve at 11 a.m. Trophies and cash prizes will be given to the winners for best 1-alarm, 2-alarm, and 3-alarm chili as well as People's Choice. Awards will be given around 1:30 p.m. There is no entry fee for the chili cook-off and participants may enter as many categories as they like but a minimum of four gallons must be submitted for each category entered. Entry forms can be found on the Sallisaw Main Street website at sallisawmainstreet.org.

Activities are planned for all ages, including a talent show scheduled for 11 a.m. with entries being accepted until 10:45 a.m. prior to the show. For more information, call Rodney Cottrell at (918)774-5454. Entry forms are also available on the Main Street website.

Cruise Night is scheduled for the evening of the car show. American Graffiti, a Movie on the Lawn event, will be shown at dusk on the Stanley Tubbs Library law. Bring lawn chairs. Following the movie, Tony King and Switch Track will be playing on the corner of Cherokee and Oak.

Fun Times Show will be held on the Sallisaw rodeo grounds beginning Oct. 8, with rides, games, food, and family fun!
