Sallisaw Memorial Day Service Is Monday

Members of American Legion Carnie Welch Post 27 in Sallisaw will sponsor the Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. Monday at the Sallisaw City Cemetery. Bill Aydelott of Sallisaw said this year's special speaker is Major Leister of the Arkansas National Guard. Special music will be presented by Holly Bormann, Dana Davis and Melanie Drummond. The service will be held in the cemetery gazebo. Aydelott said, "This service is designed to honor those who have given their lives to provide our freedom." The Memorial Day Service at the Fort Smith National Cemetery will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday and a Memorial Day Service will also be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Akins Cemetery Pavilion.
