College Evacuated After Bomb Threat Found

Detective Sandy Girdner with Sallisaw Police and many other law enforcement agencies scrambled to Carl Albert State College, Sallisaw Campus, after a supposed bomb threat was found scrawled on a restroom mirror. The threat only read "Bomb Today," which was enough to call out Sallisaw Police, the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and bomb squad. The message was found at about 10:45 a.m. and the college buildings evacuated. After a search, the students were allowed to return to their classrooms at 11:15 a.m., while law enforcement officers remained on the campus. Sallisaw Police said a statement would be issued as soon as approved by Police Chief Terry Franklin. Stay tuned to KXMX for the latest news, or visit www.kxmx.com.
