Keota Couple Killed in Crash
A Keota couple, who at one time attended church in Sallisaw friends said, were killed in a two-vehicle crash at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday. Martin Dyer, 81, and Hilda Dyer, 77, were pronounced dead at the scene, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. According to the OHP report, Martin Dyer was driving a 1994 Lexus west on State Highway 9, when truck driver Kindle Thompson, 44, going north in a 2006 Freightliner, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Highways 9 and 26. The OHP reported the Lexus hit the side of the truck and came to rest under the truck. The Dyers were pinned for about an hour and were freed by the Keota Fire Department. Thompson was not injured in the wreck, the OHP reported. Stay tuned to KXMX for the latest news, or visit www.kxmx.com. By Sally Maxwell, Senior News Director

Martin and Hilda Dyer were currently attending First Baptist Church in Keota. He taught Sunday School most of his adult life. They were good Christians loved by everyone.
