The Sequoyah County District Attorney’s office filed charges Wednesday against three suspects arrested in an undercover drug investigation on Sunday that resulted in one police officer being injured.
Sallisaw Police report the officer, Blake Brunk, was treated and released at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw, and is now at home recuperating. He was hit by the car driven by the suspects and dragged 20 to 30 feet before he could escape. When the car began backing toward the officer police fired on the car but no one was hit.
The driver, Duane Ray Bryant, 30, of Pocola, was charged in district court Wednesday with trafficking in illegal drugs, assault and battery on a police officer, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Joshua Lee Rose, 32, of Pocola, was charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
Crystal Anne Rose, 33, of Pocola, was charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
The three suspects led Sallisaw police and deputies with the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office on a short chase before they were apprehended east of the Walmart parking lot where the encounter took place.
No arraignment date was on the suspects’ court records Wednesday afternoon.
