Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane reported on two drug raids on Friday.
Lane said one man was arrested in the Blackgum area and an arrest warrant will be requested for a second suspect from Gore.
Lane reported Jack E. Brown, 34, of Vian was arrested at the first residence where law enforcement officers served a search warrant at about 7 a.m. Friday. Brown was booked into the county jail on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Deputies and investigators from the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the District 27 Drug Task Force executed two narcotics search warrants,” Lane reported. “In the residence in the Blackgum area, north of Vian, officers found evidence of the distribution and use of methamphetamines as well as two firearms.”
Lane said, “The second search warrant was then served at a residence in the city limits of Gore. Upon searching the residence, officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. This residence was also within 1,000 feet of a school and a church, which is an additional charge. The homeowner was not home at the time, and the sheriff’s office will apply for an arrest warrant upon completion of their investigation.”
