A Silver Alert, issued Friday in Sallisaw, has been cancelled. The missing man, James Sigler, 76, was found safe on Tuesday in Oklahoma City by Oklahoma City police.
Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin said an investigation by his department revealed the missing man may never have been in Sallisaw. "We had conformation that he was in a hospital in Oklahoma City when he was supposed to be here."
Sigler was believed to be on his way from Oklahoma City by bus to visit a daughter in Fort Smith, but he did not arrive as scheduled, and the Silver Alert was issued. Some believed he got off the bus during a stop in Sallisaw, but the investigation revealed he may never have gotten on the bus. The man's family has been notified of his whereabouts, Franklin said.
