Bennett Blasts Iran Deal

State Rep. John Bennett (R-Sallisaw) said today he is disappointed in the deal struck between the Obama Administration and Iran.

"This is one of the most catastrophic deals that the Obama Administration has made," Bennett said. "Israeli leaders across the political spectrum condemned in stark apocalyptic language the Iranian nuclear pact announced by the United States and world powers Tuesday, calling it a historic mistake that frees Iran to sponsor global terror while assembling the expertise to build a nuclear bomb."

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "Iran is going to receive a sure path to nuclear weapons. Many of the restrictions that were supposed to prevent it from getting there will be lifted."

With the lifting of economic sanctions, Netanyahu warned: "Iran will get a jackpot, a cash bonanza of hundreds of billions of dollars, which will enable it to continue to pursue its aggression and terror."

Netanyahu's hardline coalition partner, education minister Naftali Bennett added: "Today a terrorist nuclear superpower is born, and it will go down as one of the darkest days in world history."

Bennett said Oklahomans have a strong stance in support of Israel.

"I applaud Oklahoma's stance and pact with Israel, however I'm extremely disappointed and appalled at the Obama administration's complete and continued disregard for American and Israelis national security," Bennett said. "How does this play into Oklahoma? Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism. Once they get a nuclear weapon, they will embolden the Islamic terrorist groups and affiliates in Oklahoma and the world to conduct more terrorist acts against Americans.

"America is probably the most vulnerable it has been in decades. We need a President who will lead a strong America, not project a weak America who opens its borders to terrorists."
