Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin said those arrested were Janenne Johnston, 49, Marilyne “Pepper” May, 50, Tasha Scroggins, 25, and Sherrl Hamilton, 38. All are residents of Sallisaw.
Franklin said the Sallisaw Police Department and the District 27 Drug Task Force teamed up to execute a narcotics search warrant on Wednesday at the Sallisaw residence. During the search warrant officers found about 20 grams of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine along with plastic baggies and other paraphernalia used to distribute drugs.
Johnston, May, Scroggins and Hamilton were all taken into custody on charges of possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with intent to distribute and possession of CDS within 1,000 feet of a school. All four were booked into the Sallisaw jail and later transferred to the Sequoyah County Jail.
