Van Buren Suspect Has Warrants in Sequoyah County


A Paris, Ark., man, who is wanted in Sequoyah County for failure to appear and failure to pay fines, led Van Buren police on a chase Sunday.

Joshua Keith Farnam, 27, was captured by Van Buren police after leading them on a foot chase and after crashing a stolen motorcycle near Lowe’s on Fayetteville Road. Farnam was taken into custody near the Hampton Inn. Farnam was treated at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith before he was taken to jail.

According to Sequoyah County Court records, Farnam was charged in Sequoyah County District Court on Feb. 15, 2011, with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A bench warrant for his arrest was issued March 14 in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw.
