Sheriff Ron Lockhart said Wednesday that a female driver, a teenage girl and a dog had to be rescued from the woman’s pickup truck Wednesday morning, after she drove into high water from Cato Creek on Cato Creek Road at Lake Tenkiller.
Lockhart said the two females and the dog were rescued from the truck by a nearby pontoon boat driver. No injuries were reported.
Lockhart said reports indicate the woman drove around a barricade on the county road, near the Sequoyah-Cherokee County line, and into the water.
A tow truck was dispatched to retrieve the truck, reports said.
