Muldrow School Has New Program for 3-Year-Olds

A new school year begins August 13 and some schools are offering new programs for the new year.

At Muldrow's Elementary School a new 3-year-old program is being offered by KI BOIS Community Action Head Start.

Sherry Hullinger, Head Start assistant director for the area, encourages families with 3-year-olds to apply. Application surveys are available at the classroom, which is now open in the Early Childhood Building on the elementary school campus, or at the Muldrow School Superintendent's office. The survey may also be printed off the kibois.org website.

The program is for the income eligible, but Hullinger said when not enough income-eligible families apply, others may be accepted.

"That's why we encourage everyone to apply," Hullinger said.

There are a few other requirements for the program, but the teachers do appreciate it if the child is potty trained. Even then, Hullinger said, "When they get in their peer group it doesn't take long."

The child must also be age 3 by September 1
