Lockhart Elected to Oklahoma Sheriff Association Position

On Friday, August 14th, Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart was sworn in as 1st Vice President of the Oklahoma Sheriff Association. The award banquet ceremony was held in Midwest City. 

The Mission Statement of the Oklahoma Sheriff Association is to maintain the Office of the Sheriff through training and education; developing laws and policies that promote public safety and; providing technical and informational support to assist the Sheriffs of Oklahoma in providing effective and quality law enforcement services to the citizens of the State of Oklahoma.

"It's a great honor to be elected to this position by all of the Oklahoma sheriffs," stated Sheriff Lockhart.

Lockhart is a Sallisaw native who has served as Sequoyah County Sheriff since 2009.
