An elderly couple lost their lives in an overnight house fire north of Muldrow.
Roy "RC" and Carla Rogers died in the blaze, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane.
The Muldrow Fire Dept. was dispatched to the scene after midnight Friday morning and was also assisted by two other fire departments including the Maple Rural Fire Dept.
The fire quickly engulfed the home and flames reached close to 30 feet tall, according to witnesses.
According to the couple's daughter, the Rogers had lived in the home for 47 years. Former owners of Rogers Mountain Music Barn the Rogers had an extensive collection of musical instruments and equipment that also were destroyed in the fire. The Rogers were also known for their involvement in local charity work.
The bodies were sent to the medical examiner's office.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma Fire Marshal.
