Rabies Clinic Set for Oct. 30

The Sallisaw Animal Hospital is hosting a rabies clinic from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the clinic, 2300 W. Cherokee.

Randy Freeman, Sallisaw’s animal control officer, said Wednesday that the event is held twice a year and is designed to provide city residents with low-cost vaccinations for their animals.

At the event, rabies shots will be available for $10 and Freeman said 5-in-1 booster shots will be $15. The 5-in-1 booster is an annual vaccination that prevents distemper, adenovirus, para-influenza and parvo. Freeman said those diseases are deadly to animals and it is vital that they receive these inoculations.

Freeman said the clinic, which is sponsored by the Sallisaw Animal Care Facility, has been a part of the community for at least 15 years.

All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a pet carrier.
