Sallisaw’s Diamond Daze Festival offers fun, food and entertainment for everyone, from the ground on up.
The festival will be held June 2, 3 and 4 on the Sallisaw High School campus.
Sponsored by the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, Diamond Daze offers world-class entertainment, featuring the Brothers Osborne and country superstar Tracy Lawrence.
The festival also includes a High Steaks grilling contest, food vendors, helicopter and train rides, arts and crafts, pony rides, a car show, games and Great Plains Amusements rides on the carnival midway, and a Battle of the Bands!
Thursday evening the festival kicks off at 6 p.m. for Family Fun Night, when the carnival is in full swing and helicopter and train rides will be offered.
The helicopter rides will lift off from the east side of the campus. The cost is $25 per person for a three-minute ride and $40 per person for a six-minute ride. The helicopter rides will be available Thursday and Friday evening and all day on Saturday.
Featured on Thursday evening will be the Battle of the Bands when local musicians compete for cash prizes. The winner will also open for Brothers Osborne on Friday evening.
Admission is $5 per carload and the gates open at 6 p.m.
Friday admission is $10 per person and is free for those under age 12. The gates open at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 7:30 p.m. with the Battle of the Bands winner opening for Brothers Osborne.
Brothers Osborne will perform their song that started it all – “Rum” and their latest No. 1 hit “Stay a Little Longer.”
Saturday the festival continues through the day and admission is $5 per carload, until before the evening entertainment begins. At 5 p.m. admission is $10 per person and is free for those under age 12.
Tracy Lawrence is the featured entertainment of the festival, and the popular, local group Woodshed opens for him at 7:30 p.m.
Lawrence has sold over 13 million albums and has recorded 22 top-10 songs and has 18 No. 1 singles. His greatest hits include “Paint Me a Birmingham,” “Sticks and Stones,” “Time Marches on,” “Texas Tornado,” “Alibis” and “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.”
