A photo contest, sponsored by the Sequoyah County Health Department in Sallisaw, is designed to help decorate the health department’s newly-remodeled lobby area.
Angie Shaw, the health department’s administrative program officer, said the health department is hoping to get old and new photos of buildings, attractions, events, etc., in the county to display in the lobby.
“We are in the process of remodeling the lobby and are dedicating one wall to the photo display,” she said. “We’re hoping we get everything, old and new.”
There is no entry fee to the contest, but photos must be accompanied by an entry form. The forms are available at the health department or may be obtained by email by submitting an email address to Shaw by calling the health department at 918-775-6201.
The photos and entry forms may be returned by hand, my mail or by email to the health department. The health department is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The photos may be of any size and may be black and white or in color. The deadline to enter is July 31.
Shaw said all the submitted photos will most likely be put on display, and the owner of the winning photo will receive a canvas print of their submission.
She said that, when the remodel is done and photos on display, the health department will hold an open house.
