A Sallisaw man and a Muldrow woman, who were both charged May 22 with child neglect involving four children, will be in court again on Aug. 1, according to Sequoyah County District Court records.
Anthony Lance Teague, 37, listed as a resident of Sallisaw, and Andrea Lynn Teague, 35, of Muldrow were both charged with child neglect and are accused of “allowing illegal substances in the home, substance abuse with children in the home and excessive drinking in the home.”
After an investigation May 9 into abuse allegations, the couple, living in Muldrow, are alleged to get drunk and “get mean and hit the children.” He is accused of hitting the children with a belt with metal rings and she is accused of hitting the children with a plastic spoon.
According to the investigator’s report, two 13-year-old siblings in the home said they “have weapons hidden…and have a plan in case the parents hurt one of the children during one of their drunken explosions.”
Both Anthony Teague and Andrea Teague entered not guilty pleas to the charge. Their next court appearance is set for Aug. 1 on Associate District Judge Kyle Waters’ disposition docket.
