Officials have released the name of the victim in a Saturday evening house fire near Marble City. The deceased has been identified as Bobby Morris. Mr Morris perished after entering the burning house to save his wife. According to witnesses, Morris arrived on the scene after the fire was fully underway. Unknown to Morris, his wife had already exited the home through another door. After Morris entered the structure, the roof fell in.
When the Marble City Fire Department arrived on the scene the house was fully engulfed. After the fire was extinguished fire officials located a deceased body inside the residence. The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department along with the Oklahoma State Fire Marshals Office and the State Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene. The body of the deceased was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. At this time there are no indications of foul play.
