Muldrow Woman in Critical Condition after Wreck

A 20-year-old Muldrow woman is reported in critical condition Friday at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith following a three-car collision at 7:44 a.m. Friday. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Shelby Howard was listed in critical condition with multiple internal and external injuries. The OHP also reported the driver of a 2013 semi-truck, Ernest Vandusseldorp, 77, of Hartman, Arkansas, which collided with Howard's pickup, was also hospitalized with internal and external injuries. He was listed in good condition at Sparks Regional Medical Center. A third vehicle involved in the wreck was driven by Brenda Thomas, 49, of Sallisaw. The OHP reported she was not injured. OHP troopers reported Howard was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup east on U.S. Highway 64 when she tried to change lanes and lost control. The truck left the left side of the road and entered the westbound lanes where the pickup hit the semi driven by Vandusseldorp, 77, of Harman, Arkansas. Thomas was driving a 2012 Nissan east on U.S. Highway 64, when, the OHP reported, a large piece of debris struck her vehicle. The OHP reported the wreck occurred 2.7 miles east of Roland.
