Christmas Storefront Decoration Awards Presented

The Flower Cottage was honored at the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lunch on Wednesday. The flower and gift shop, owned by Louise Woodard and Carol Brown, is going out of business this year after 44 years in business. At the plaque presentation are owners Louise Woodard, seated on the right, and Carol Brown, seated on the left. Standing are Carla Risenhoover, left, and Mechell Raney, right. Gary Winton, chamber president, center, presented a plaque to honor The Flower Cottage.

The Mix 105.1, KXMX, won second place in the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Storefront Decoration Contest for the west division, and was awarded a trophy at the chamber's Christmas luncheon Wednesday. Presenting the award are Judy Martens, left, chamber executive vice president, and Robin Akers, chamber administrative assistant. Kim Girdner, right, of KXMX accepts the trophy.

First National Bank won first place in the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Storefront Decoration Contest, West Division, and was awarded a trophy at the chamber's Christmas lunch Wednesday. Judy Martens, chamber executive vice president, left, and Robin Akers, administrative assitant, second from left, presented the trophy to Debbie Fleetwood and Ranita Pigeon, right, from the bank.

State Farm Insurance won first place in the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Storefront Decoration Contest, East Division, and was awarded a trophy at the chamber's Christmas lunch Wednesday. Judy Martens, chamber executive vice president, middle, and Robin Akers, administrative assistant, right, presented the trophy to Cheryl Vann, left.

Valley Land Title was awarded first place in the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Storefront Decoration contest for the downtown area, and was awarded a trophy at the chamber's Christmas lunch Wednesday. Judy Martens, left, chamber executive vice president, said 19 businesses entered the contest this year. She presented the winner's trophy, with the help of Robin Akers, administrative assistant, second from left, to Melisa Johnson and Rachael Diffee from the Valley Land Title.
