The Sallisaw Police Department has a new sign on the building's front. Police Chief Terry Franklin said the new sign was just one of several maintenance improvements made recently to the police department. The new sign, Franklin said, uses the type face used on the city's welcome signs and resembles the sign first put on the building when it opened in the 1990's.
