Sallisaw Ceremony to Honor Veterans

The City of Sallisaw will honor its military veterans at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, on the lawn of Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library.

The Veterans Day ceremony is sponsored by Carnie Welch American Legion Post 27 and the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce and will include a wreath-laying, a flag retirement ceremony, a 21-gun salute and more. The public is invited to attend.

“We are looking forward to having a good time at this year’s event,” said Marty Green, the director and chief executive officer of the Sallisaw chamber.

The chamber thanked contributors Joe Wagg, Eastside Baptist Church, the Sallisaw Police Department work crew, the Farmers Co-Op of Sallisaw and Vernon Edwards with E&E Welding for their efforts to prepare for the event.
