Rogers Named to State Board

District 3 County Commissioner Jim Rogers

The Board of Sequoyah County Commissioners announced Monday that Commissioner Jim Rogers was recently named to the board of the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma (ACCO).

ACCO is the governing body for local city governments across the state. Rogers will serve a two-year term on the board.

In other business, the commissioners opened bids for printing 2020 ballots for the election board. They also discussed the awarding of a bid on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) waterline replacement project for the Lee Creek Rural Water Department to Goodwin & Goodwin Construction.

The panel also discussed the approval of National Crime Victims Week for the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department. Reimbursable grants from the U.S. Department of Justice make it possible for cities around the nation to hold victims week events.

Commissioners also approved the transfer of appropriations from the Sheriff’s service fee maintenance and operations account to the Sheriff’s Department of Environmental Quality grant.
