Cherokee Casinos hosting Doug Stone Nov. 2-3



Platinum-selling country musician Doug Stone to perform free shows at Cherokee Casino and Hotel Roland and Cherokee Casino and Hotel West Siloam Springs.


Doug Stone has continued to win the hearts of fans across the country since his self-titled debut in 1990. Stone is set to play Cherokee Casino and Hotel Roland on Nov. 2, followed by Cherokee Casino and Hotel West Siloam Springs on Nov. 3. 

Both shows are free to the public.

Stone’s show on Nov. 2 begins at 8 p.m. inside Cherokee Casino and Hotel Roland, while his show on Nov. 3 begins at 9 p.m. inside Cherokee Casino and Hotel West Siloam Springs.

Stone began learning the guitar at age 5 and became an opener for Loretta Lynn at age 7.

His first single, “I’d Be Better Off (In a Pine Box),” was released on his self-titled debut on Epic Records, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard US Country Charts. Other singles from the album include “Fourteen Minutes Old” and “These Lips Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye,” each single reaching No. 6 and No. 5, respectively. His first No. 1 single, “In a Different Light,” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Song and pushed the album to 1 million copies sold and RIAA platinum-certified sales.

Stone’s 1991 album, “I Thought It Was You,” also earned RIAA platinum and featured the No. 1 single “A Jukebox with a Country Song.”

Two more of Stone’s albums under the Epic label were certified RIAA gold, including 1992’s “From the Heart” and 1994’s “More Love.”

Stone has charted 22 singles on the Hot Country Charts, including additional No. 1 hits “Too Busy Being in Love,” “Addicted to a Dollar” and “Why Didn’t I Think of That.”

Cherokee Casino and Hotel Roland is located off Highway 64 on Cherokee Boulevard in Roland.

Cherokee Casino and Hotel West Siloam Springs is located off U.S. Highway 412 and State Highway 59 in West Siloam Springs.
