Work Continues on Old High School Park

The brick wings on the Old Sallisaw High School rotunda have been completed but there is still a bit left to do to complete the renovation of what is left of the old school.

Members of the Old Sallisaw High School Association said there is some painting left to do, doors to be replaced, and the building will get a good scrub to remove some stains left by the fire that destroyed the school building.

In the next few weeks it is expected a marquee will be placed at the park and picnic tables will be set out.

The group is also preparing for the holidays and planning on decorating the park and preparing for the Sallisaw Christmas parade.

In the meantime, they still have ongoing fundraisers. The group has shirts and memory bricks for sale, and is selling tickets for a recliner to be given away on Dec. 10. For information contact any association member, visit the group’s Facebook page or email oldshsassociation@diamondnet.us.
