Sallisaw Working on Fixing Tinted Water

The City of Sallisaw is currently having issues with manganese in treated water which is causing a green/yellow tint in some areas of the city.

City officials said the water is safe for consumption and technicians are working on adjustments at the water treatment plant.

Manganese is a mineral that can affect the color of water. Issues with manganese typically occur in spring or fall. Water temperature and lack of rain can be contributing factors causing this issue.
