A one-vehicle crash at 6:06 p.m. Monday was caused when the passenger struck the driver, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported.
According to the OHP report, Rudy Wolfe, 38, of Stilwell was driving a 2005 Hyundai north on Bell Road, 7.8 miles south of Stilwell, when the passenger, Christina Fencer, 21, of Stilwell, struck him in the mouth. Wolfe told the OHP that when Fencer punched him in the mouth, he lost control of the vehicle which then struck a tree. The vehicle rolled one time.
Wolfe was treated and released for head and external trunk injuries at Stilwell Hospital. Fencer was transported by Air Evac to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville and admitted with head, arm, leg and internal and external trunk injuries. She was listed in guarded condition.
The OHP reported the cause of the crash was alcohol.
