Commissioners OK Work on Road Projects


The Board of County Commissioners for Sequoyah County tackled several issues at their weekly meeting Monday, including road projects and the appointment of several agents to assist the commissioners.

The panel unanimously approved a 324a claim form for the Redwood Road project in Sequoyah County District 3 and a 324a claim form for the Dwight Mission Road project (railroad surface crossing).

Commissioners also approved a resolution to hold an election for the Fair Board of Directors.

In other business, the commissioners designated Ray Watts and Tiffany Jenkins as requisitioning agents for county District 1, Steve Carter and Jenkins as requisitioning agents for District 2 and Jim Rogers and Jenkins as requisitioning agents for District 3.

The panel also designated Crystal Stuart and Jenkins as receiving agents and Steve Rutherford as requisitioning agent for the Sequoyah County Office of Emergency Management. The commissioners also designated Chrystal Schulz as receiving agent for the county’s Mental Health Court.
