Man Charged with Robbing Elderly Man at Casino

A 24-year-old Fort Smith man was charged Aug. 30 with second-degree robbery in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw after he snatched a $100 bill out of a patron’s hand at the Cherokee Casino on Roland.

A bench warrant was issued Aug. 30 for Tyler Anthony Walters at the request of Roland police. The police officer’s report, filed with the charges, reports Walters is seen on Aug. 27 on a video from the casino rushing at an elderly patron and grabbing a $100 bill out of the patron’s hand, then running from the casino through the east entrance.

Initial attempts to contact and apprehend Walters were unsuccessful. He is described as white, six feet, two inches tall and weighing 260 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

His last known address is listed as 1919 N. 46th Terrace in Fort Smith.
