Corvette Driver Loses Life in Accident

A Harrah, Okla. woman was killed in a collision involving a passenger car and a commercial vehicle that occurred at approximately 11:37 a.m. Tuesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported.

Pamela Ingraham, 74, from Harrah, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries from the accident, according to the OHP report.

The accident occurred on State Highway 82 and County Road 953, approximately 12 miles north of Vian.

The OHP reported that Ingraham was eastbound in a 2012 Corvette on County Road 953 and stopped to turn northbound onto State Highway 82.  A 1999 Peterbuilt Semi driven Kinnan Briggs, 34, from Park Hill, was approaching southbound on State Highway 82 when Ingraham pulled into the path of the semi.

Briggs was not injured in the accident, according to the OHP report. 

Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles. The cause of the collision was noted as failed to yield from stop sign.

Both lanes of State Highway 82 were closed for approximately 3 hours while the roadway was cleared and cleaned. Traffic was diverted to secondary roads. Sooner Emergency Services was called in to clean the wreckage.
