Sallisaw Main Street’s Thursday Night Opens at 11 a.m.

Sallisaw Main Street’s Thursday Night Local opens at 11 a.m. Thursday on the lawn at Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in downtown Sallisaw.

Carol Brown of Sallisaw Main Street said the organization’s food trailer opens at 11 a.m. and will offer Indian tacos, baked potatoes, funnel cakes and other goodies.

“We had 25 and 23 vendors at our previous locals and I expect to have that many again,” Brown said. “We’ve had lots of calls and the vendors can set up at any time.”

The pop-ups and vendors sell a variety of items from out-of-the ordinary to handmade crafts to flea market fare.

The event also includes a free showing of a popular family movie, and this Thursday the movie is “The Secret Life of Pets.” The movie will begin between 7 and 7:30 p.m., a little earlier than in the past due to the earlier sunset and because school has begun, Brown said.

Brown said the next pop-up and vendor sale will not be on a Thursday, but will be held on Oct. 14, a Saturday, in conjunction with Main Street’s annual Cruizin’ 64 Car Show and Blues Fest.
