Sallisaw firefighters responded to a house fire Tuesday evening and found the home, at 1807 Lakeview Lane, engulfed in flames.
Steve Padgett, Sallisaw Fire Department assistant chief, said firefighters were dispatched at about 9:55 p.m. and found the home’s roof had already burned through when they arrived.
The home is just east of the Sallisaw Water Treatment Plant on the city’s north side, and is west of Highway 17.
Padgett said no one was at the home at the time, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
Firefighters had the blaze extinguished in about 45 minutes he said. The home was not insured and the loss is estimated at $25,000.
